Specialist Elective Group A – Track Work
This training may be available to eligible students with Victorian and Commonwealth Government Funding.
Course Outcome
Learners who successfully complete this course are issued with a Testamur for the Specialist Elective Group ‘A’ – Track Work in the above qualification.

- Track Installer
- Track Maintainer
Course Overview
In addition to having to complete the 7 core units, learners have to complete the following units which are specific to the Elective Group:
- TLIB2085 Apply track fundamentals
- TLIB2092 Operate minor mechanical equipment
- TLIS2030 Carry out track ballasting
- TLIS2031 Install railway sleepers
- TLIS2034 Install and repair rail fastening systems
- TLIS2044 Carry out rail installation
As well as 3 units from the General Electives units which should be relevant to the learners intended occupation. For further details of the elective units that ATS can offer please contact us.
Duration
The course duration will depend on the individuals experience of working in the rail infrastructure or similar industries and will be determined during the enrolment process.
Learners have 12 months to complete the course but it can be completed in a shorter timescale through block modules to suit an applicants needs.
Training Location
Training is conducted at our Laverton training centre.
Entry Requirements
Learners must undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment to assist in determining suitability.
Birth Certificate, Drivers Licence or Passport must be presented as evidence of ID.
