Apply track fundamentals
Learners who successfully complete this course, will be issued with a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for the above unit of competency.
This course is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge required to apply fundamentals of track maintenance and construction, and to carry out basic track measurement, in accordance with approved rail industry standards, safeworking and regulatory requirements, and workplace procedures.
It includes identifying track terminology, track components and track tools and equipment; and undertaking basic track measurement.
The course is conducted over 8 hours and consists of theory and practical elements. The theoretical components will be conducted face-to-face in the classroom and all practical elements will be demonstrated, practised and assessed in a simulated rail environment.
Training is conducted at our Laverton training centre.
Learners must undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment to assist in determining suitability.
Birth Certificate, Drivers Licence or Passport must be presented as evidence of ID.
